Advancing Energy Connectivity Across Southeast Asia

AIF and ADB launched the Regional Connectivity Fund for Energy in Southeast Asia, a multi-partner trust fund designed to accelerate the ASEAN Power Grid. Developed as a key output of the AIF Action Plan 2025-2028, the fund secured initial funding of around $25 million from partners including Australia, Canada, the European Union, Germany, and the United Kingdom to support project preparation, technical studies, engineering design, financial structuring, and policy, regulatory, and capacity-building support for regional energy connectivity.

Reporting Progress on Regional Green Finance Partnerships

ACGF released its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting significant progress in supporting governments across Southeast Asia to prepare and finance green infrastructure. In 2025, ACGF and its partners delivered $937 million in ACGF-linked financing, mobilized $2.1 billion in project investment with $1.1 billion in expected private capital, supported four approved projects and 15 projects in origination or processing, advanced three GSS+ bond issuances, and delivered thought leadership through publications, trainings, and events.

Sustainable Fisheries and Small-Scale Ports

ACGF convened the fifth session of the green ports webinar series on Sustainable Fisheries and Small-Scale Ports: Supporting Livelihoods and Seafood Markets, hosted through ADB's Southeast Asia Development Solutions and Development Asia platforms. The session examined how small-scale ports could strengthen fisheries supply chains, support coastal livelihoods, improve governance and transparency, and maintain access to global seafood markets as climate pressures, environmental degradation, and evolving market expectations reshaped the sector.

Cruise and Tourism Ports

ACGF convened the fourth session of the green ports webinar series on Cruise and Tourism Ports: Managing Growth Responsibly, hosted through ADB's Southeast Asia Development Solutions platform. The session explored how cruise and tourism ports could support growth while safeguarding environmental values, strengthening community trust, maintaining social license to operate, managing risk, enhancing resilience, and delivering long-term value for coastal destinations.

Social License to Operate in Ports

ACGF convened the third session of the green ports webinar series on Social License to Operate: Balancing Stakeholder Expectations and Operational Needs, hosted through ADB's Southeast Asia Development Solutions platform. The session examined why trust, transparency, community acceptance, and materiality were becoming critical to port competitiveness, investment readiness, and resilience, offering practical takeaways for ASEAN ports on managing environmental and social risks and responding to rising expectations from regulators, financiers, and global supply chains.
