ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility
The ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility (ACGF), launched in 2019, is an AIF initiative designed as a one-stop platform to unlock climate finance and mobilize investment-ready green projects. Managed by ADB, ACGF offers flexible and concessional financing from AIF and its partners, project development support, and innovative blended finance instruments.
- Technical Assistance to identify and prepare commercially viable green projects.
- Access to AIF funds and over $1.9 Billion in loans from cofinancing partners to fund upfront capital costs.
- Be sovereign or sovereign-guaranteed
- Set clear environmental targets
- Have a financial sustainability plan
- Include a roadmap for attracting private capital
- Creating de-risking and innovative green finance mechanisms
- Driving concerted efforts in selected thematic areas
- Encouraging capacity development on green and innovative finance models and frameworks
- Leveraging global partnerships to support a green transition in Southeast Asia
To scale impact, ACGF uses AIF funds strategically to mobilize larger amounts of financing from ADB and other development partners.
ACGF accelerates the development of green infrastructure through project origination, catalytic capital, and knowledge sharing.
