Philippines Builds E-mobility Capacity with Republic of Korea’s Support
Officials from the Philippines’ Department of Transportation and Davao City joined Phase 2 of ACGF E-Mobility Twinning Program, supported by the e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund, to advance green urban transport planning. Korean experts shared lessons on coordinated public transport systems, smart fare technologies, and public-private partnership models. Participants explored how to apply these strategies to Davao’s Public Transport Modernization Program, reinforcing ADB’s commitment to inclusive, low-carbon mobility in Southeast Asia.
Thailand Launches Sustainable Finance Taxonomy Phase 2 to Propel Climate-aligned Investment
Thailand launched Phase 2 of its Sustainable Finance Taxonomy to guide climate-aligned investments and support sustainable development goals. Led by key national agencies with support from ACGF’s GSS+ Bonds Initiative, the updated taxonomy expands sectoral coverage, introduces a “traffic light” system for classifying investments, and supports future capital flows via a Climate Change Fund.
ADB launches e-Mobility twinning program in the Republic of Korea
On 2-5 July, ADB's Green Finance Hub and the Transport Sector Group delivered the first phase of a capacity building initiative for e-mobility and green urban projects in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The twinning programs involved the Korea Transport Institute and ministries from Thailand and the Philippines engaged in transport planning and implementation. The initiative featured presentations and discussions on public bus operations and e-mobility. The e-Asia and Knowledge Partnership Fund supports the twinning programs through its contribution to ASEAN Catalytic Green Finance Facility.
Blue SEA Finance Hub secures $500 million loan in Indonesia
ADB approved a $500 million loan to strengthen Indonesia’s program to reduce plastic marine debris by 70% by 2025. The program is ADB’s first marine debris program and is being developed under ADB's Blue SEA Finance Hub.
GSS+ Bonds/Sukuk Accelerator launched in Indonesia
ADB, the Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility (CGIF), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched the GSS+ Bonds Accelerator to support pilot issuances of GSS+ (green, social, sustainability, sustainability-linked) bonds/sukuks and sukuk-linked waqf in Indonesia.
